Pisco... the beginning of theSacred Valley

The Inca Sacred Valley begins at Pisco and runs for about 100 kilometers.  The Inca called this the Sacred Valley because the valley had very fertile soil, water and an excellent climate.  Cuzco, the capital of the Inca Empire was located 2000 feet higher than the Sacred Valley and because of this, Cuzco was much colder and dryer.
